OVERVIEW AND INTRODUCTION
RAUMSONDE is a web tool to support the planning of cultural events and the preparation of permit applications to the relevant authorities. It supports organisers of cultural events in their search for suitable venues in public spaces as well as in applying for the relevant permits that are associated with or necessary for them.
The principle of the platform is simple:
• Via an interactive city map - the SPACE MAP - relevant spatial features such as land use types, the distance to sensitive areas (such as residential development or nature conservation areas) or even the responsibilities of the districts are displayed and visualised. This makes it possible to query the spatial parameters of the planned event at the selected location. Externally invisible, but definitely relevant location factors can thus be discovered in order to find and select the best locations for an event in advance.
• You can then fill out your applications in the APPLICATION ASSISTANT. This makes it easier for both sides to register events in the districts. All relevant information for the desired or necessary permits is requested and collected in your application. Based on this, a kind of preliminary check can be made on the scope of the permit required for the planned event, the relevant authorities, as well as helpful forms and documents. If required, the completed application can then be sent separately (as a PDF/printout) and submitted to the authorities.
• With the SITE PLAN Tool, the venue can be dimensioned on the SPACE MAP and the details of the event (such as stage, toilets, fire extinguishers, etc.) can be drawn in to create a comprehensive site plan with all the information required by the relevant authorities for the respective permits.
• In the INFOCENTER, organisers will find a wide range of information to help them prepare for the event.
General note on use: The RAUMSONDE was developed for individual use in the context of a planning and implementation of non-commercial cultural events in public space. It is explicitly not intended for commercial actors and does not replace human or personal contact with the authorities concerned. It creates a new possibility to get necessary information about permission procedures more easily, to find suitable locations more easily and to facilitate the dialogue between cultural space activists and local authorities.
